She knew it was hopeless. There was no point in starring out the window, hoping he would miraculously step out of a cab and into her open arms. But still, she waited. She had stopped crying her heart out a long time ago; the chaos inside her head had not given up though. He could not be dead. He would walk through her front door again. Any moment now.
