“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
― Andy Warhol
The good. A gentleman he was when they first met; a very charismatic individual who knew just what to say to make her heart melt.
The bad. With time, however, his true personality was revealed: the arrogance, the ignorance and self-centeredness.
The ugly. Name-calling; upsetting statements in the guise of jokes. Many times, she attempted to break it off, but each time, she was seduced by his sweet nothings, only to be ridiculed after a few days.
The great escape. It was an unhealthy relationship, this much she knew, and the fact that she was turning into someone she could no longer recognise. It took a lot in her to finally give up on the man he once was.
“You will never find someone like me again,” the same sentence appeared in many texts and emails sent to her after.
She knew. She would find someone who would treasure her.
